I have a great husband who knows me very well. For my bday he wanted to give me a beach vacation bc he knows I love nothing more than being at the beach for hours, baking away. What's that, you say? We live on an island? Yes, that is true. But it's not the same unless you can open your door & walk across the street, barefoot, to the beach. Up north there is a place for military families called Okuma. It's a nice little get away where you can have accommodations as rustic as tent camping w shared facilities all the way up to a private beach cottage for adults only. We opted for a 'suite w a kitchenette', read: separate bedroom w 2 beds & a refrigerator & microwave. There was also a grill out front where we made our dinners.
We arrived on Sun & stayed till Tues so that gave us a full day on the beach Monday. We also did a glass bottom boat tour & the kids got to try mini golf. We had wanted to para sail but the boat that runs the para sail was broken so I guess we'll have to wait till next time! After we left Okuma, we hit the aquarium on the way home. It had been awhile since I'd taken the kids so they were excited to see all the fish again & it wasn't raining so we were able to catch the dolphin show too! Get ready for picture overload!
